Suspension of sentence,  Includes suspension of fine also.The word "sentence" which has been used in sections 389 and 397 of   CR PC means substantive sentence as well as the sentence of fine.  Section 53 of IPC defines punishment as -- the punishment to which offenders are liable under the provisions of the code .All this has been included in chapter 3 of IPC which deals with punishment on account of similarity between sentences of imprisonment and sentences of fine these provisions have been clubbed together.  Thus it is quite clear that the term "sentence" includes sentence of fine also. Once the sentence has been suspended it means the suspension of substantive sentence as well as sentence of fine unless it is specifically indicated, otherwise
